Although pictures mysteriously left around the In-between Realms are one of the first puzzles you find, it takes a lot of research to solve.
However, these locked towers can be unlocked right where they are! There are three towers locked in this way, and Testu's Ascension is one of the more formidable.
Where to Find The Rise of Testu?
Testu's Rise is located on a small island in Lake Liurnia, north of Raya Lucaria Academy. Upon arrival in Liurnia, it can be reached by passing the Academy on either side.But be aware; turn left and you can unintentionally disturb the extremely tough Glintstone Dragon Smarag.
While on the island, go to the tower after activating Site of Grace. Next, interact with the Imp statue guarding the gate.
The Position of the Three Wise Beasts
This is where the confusion starts. Reading the information on the statue will give you a command. Three wise beasts must be found and killed as this is Elden Ring.Do not be afraid. These monsters are not scary. In fact, they're not even enemies. They are Imaginary turtles… even if the game calls them turtles!
You're also dealing with Spectral Zombie creatures that are slow but can do massive damage if they catch you!
Wise Beast 1
Face the Imp statue (pointing East), then turn north. In front of you is a zombie loitering on a rock that looks like it's watching the first Wise Beast. This one is hard to miss, so kill it and move on.
Wise Beast 2
Continue clockwise around the tower. Almost right behind the tower entrance, you will be surrounded by a group of zombies.Take care of them if necessary or avoid their slow movements. Now look up. This turtle is somehow attached to a tree, halfway through the trunk.
It's out of melee range, so you'll need ranged or magic attacks to knock it down. Or hit the tree first to make it fall.
Wise Beast 3
You can now continue clockwise, but return to the Imp statue to better orient yourself. Now look south.This turtle is almost directly opposite the first, so cross the short distance until you reach the edge of the cliff.
Look down and you will see this Wise Beast below you. You know what to do next...
Possible Error and Solution
If you're having trouble finding Wise Beasts despite following our guide, you may be experiencing a known issue. Fear not, there is a solution as suggested by the commenters on Elden Ring's Fextralife wiki.Two possible roadblocks have been mentioned so far: Time of day and Interaction with Zombies.
Some argue that turtles only spawn at night, while others argue that if Zombies “lost aggro” (i.e. their AI 'forgets' you), then the turtles will disappear.
Therefore, we recommend that you use the Grace Site to wait for the night and never stray too far from the Zombies. If you lose the turtles, interact with the Imp statue again and they will respawn.
